Choosing the Perfect Location for your Maternity and Family Photoshoot
As a maternity and family photographer in Sydney, I understand the importance of selecting the right location for your photoshoot. The setting can significantly influence the mood and aesthetic of your photos, so it's essential to choose a spot that resonates with you and your family. Here are some of my favorite locations, each offering unique backdrops and lighting conditions to capture your precious moments beautifully.
A Beach Session
Living in Sydney means we are blessed with stunning beaches where the sun rises over the water. I highly recommend scheduling a sunrise shoot to take advantage of the beautiful golden light as the sun rises over the ocean. At this time, the beaches are quieter, the day hasn’t started yet, and we can capture your moments in a serene and peaceful setting.
Not an early riser? No problem! Sunset sessions are just as beautiful. While the sun sets in the west, we can still capture the warm, glowing light reflecting off the water and trees. The direction of the light will be different, but it offers a magical backdrop for your photos.
A beach sessions gives us lots of variety! Rocks, sand, grass and ocean depending on the beach we choose. It allows us to play, run, swim and build sand castles with your little ones
The Cliffs
If you’re looking for a dramatic and breathtaking location, the cliffs are an excellent choice. Don't worry; it’s perfectly safe, and we will stay clear of the edge. This spot is ideal for both sunrise and sunset shoots, but it truly shines at sunset. The golden light at this time is absolutely incredible, creating stunning contrasts with the bushland and rocky surroundings. Plus, this location is usually less crowded, allowing for more intimate and uninterrupted shots. Have you ever seen anything like this place? It’s pure magic!
The Sand Dunes
Is this even Sydney?! You better believe it. Located in the Sutherland Shire, we enter into a new world of the sand dunes. After some wonderful soft sand walking (fun), we arrive at a magical sunset spot to soak up the epic colors. This location is an amazing spot for any type of session and offers a unique landscape like no other. The vast, rolling dunes provide a dramatic and captivating backdrop that will make your photos truly stand out.
