Hi I’m Ebony

For as long as I can remember photography and film has been my passion and love, providing me with so much energy and joy. My love for photography began at an early age and I was lucky enough to grow up in an environment that would foster this. With my mum inspiring me to capture every moment as she had done my whole life. Now I am lucky enough to share this hobby and passion of mine with you and pursue something that breathes life into me everyday.

What I aim to create, is a relaxed, fun and comfortable environment for our shoots together, hoping to give off the feeling that we've somehow known each other forever. I like to make our shoots together as natural and effortless as possible. I’m here to offer as much or as little guidance as you need.

It's a blessing to be able to do what I love as often as I do and now that you know a little about me, I cannot wait to meet you and get to know your story before we work together to capture where you are at this point in your life.

What to wear guide

Pro tip: Mum put your outfit together and build everyone else’s outfit around your colours and textures

LOVES: Earthy colours, flowy items, crochet & jeans

Dislikes: Everyone in the family wearing white, tight dresses

Mum

I want you to feel like you but my one tip is to
keep it simple
Try not to over think your outfits (easier said than done of course). We are here to showcase your bump so a great pair of baggy blue jeans and an open jumper or bikini top might sound simple but it is a classic look for a reason!

- Long pants & long skirts are always a vibe!! They give us beautiful movement during our shots.
Wear them low below your bump

- Baggy blue jeans
You can’t go wrong with a jean look! You could wear a bikini top or bralette with these

- Knitted jumpers look great! The texture looks fab on camera

- Open belly dress – linen, lace or cotton.

- Flowing dress or dress with movement. Movement is great for our shots. You want to make sure the dress shows off the shape of your bump, we don’t want to loose it under a big beautiful dress.

- Try to avoid tight dresses as these can look out of places in certain locations such as the beach. A tight dress may suit more of a dinner vibe then a beach/grass shoot. Flowy dresses/robes gives us extra movement for our shots which is just what we want!

- Oversized linen shirt most likely worn open
This could go with a bikini underneath or jeans

- Kimonos or robes

- Solid colours, whites, creams and earthy colours such as rust, browns or even black!! Don’t be afraid to use some colours. They photograph really well and can really make an image pop

- If you like pattern then I suggest only one person like yourself wears the statement pattern

Dad

Let’s make sure to not overdress.
We want you to be comfortable and aligning with the location. We don’t want to be on a beach in formal pants and a collared formal button up. Simple is best!

- A plain t shirt
White, neutral and earthy tones such as browns, deep beiges, warm tones.

-Simple linen button up looks great
Avoid a formal button up, go for linen that looks great!

- Knitted jumpers!
This textures looks amazing on camera and is perfect for winter

- Casual pants or shorts
linen looks great

- Blue jeans, a classic!

- Solid complementary colours to mums outfit

- Avoid logos, slogans, blacks or heavy patterns

- Avoid blue shirts. This colour can feel out of place and make your skin tone a little off. So go for more earthy neutral tones

Children

- Choose colours that tie in with mums outfit

- Earthy tones such as rust looks great along with creams, oranges and whites

- Textures such as knits, linen and cotton look amazing

  • Layering for winter shoots is always a great idea and looks fab on camera

- No logos or slogans

- Avoid having every family member in all white this does not add any depth to the images

- Button ups can look cute but try and go for a linen casual button up so we are less formal

What to bring to our session

- 1 to 2 outfits
An outfit change is always great! However I would stop at 2 outfits so that we can ensure to capture them well

- Swimwear and towels (if applicable)

- Accessories are optional (hats, beanies surfboards, blanket etc)

- Water
Photoshoots are hard work

- Towel for beach shoots

WHAT TO BRING FOR KIDS

- Non messy snacks

- Water/milk if needed

- Dummies

- Nappies

- Change of clothes

- Wet wipes

- Favourite toys (but keep hidden until we need them)

Tips for kids & sunset session

It is totally normal to be worried about your little ones and how they will go at a sunset shoot but trust me it will be totally worth it!

Here's some tips for the day:

- Try and have a relaxing day so that they aren't too burnt out when it comes to the shoot. I wouldn't suggest swimming lessons, beach etc that day.

- Feed them dinner before coming so we have nice full bellies

- Bring non messy snacks such as crackers

- Bring favourite toys or comforters

- Embrace the chaos and have fun!
