Hi I’m Ebony

For as long as I can remember photography and film has been my passion and love, providing me with so much energy and joy. My love for photography began at an early age and I was lucky enough to grow up in an environment that would foster this. With my mum inspiring me to capture every moment as she had done my whole life. Now I am lucky enough to share this hobby and passion of mine with you and pursue something that breathes life into me everyday.

What I aim to create, is a relaxed, fun and comfortable environment for our shoots together, hoping to give off the feeling that we've somehow known each other forever. I like to make our shoots together as natural and effortless as possible. I’m here to offer as much or as little guidance as you need.

It's a blessing to be able to do what I love as often as I do and now that you know a little about me, I cannot wait to meet you and get to know your story before we work together to capture where you are at this point in your life.

Getting dressed in the morning some is tough enough so I understand that dressing yourself and your family for a photoshoot can be a stressful task. However, it doesn’t have to be…

My client closet is here to make things easier for you!

I have items that you are welcome to use for our shoot which is included in your session! Feel free to have a scroll through my online wardrobe and take notes of which items you would like to use. What to wear guide

Believe it or not… casual is always best. Don’t over think it. We do’t want formal attire such as business button ups. We want relaxed, free moving clothing and colour to add life to the images! We want to make sure you don’t look out of place to our location. You wouldn’t normally wear a formal shirt to the beach so why would you for our shoot.

Dos:

- Choose a colour palette to use throughout everyone’s outfits - Ideally all family members outfits complement each other

- Browns, earthy colours (such as rust), whites and creams all work wonderfully together

- Textures such as knits, cotton and linen all look amazing!

- Feel free to use accessories such as hats, beanies, blankets or keep sakes

- Don’t be afraid to use colour

Don’ts:

- Avoid everyone being in denim and white tops.
Denim and white as timeless as it is can sometimes feel a little out dated. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE denim for our sessions but my tip is to avoid putting everyone in jeans and a white top.
Denim can be styled nicely for mum and dad during winter photos with cool big jumpers and beanies however I would also avoid over doing the denim.

- No Sunglasses or big watches

- No logos, slogans or heavy patterns

- Avoid polo shirts or any shirts that seem to formal. Casual is better sometimes

- No blue shirts. This colour can throw off skin tones

Mum

- Flowing dress or dress with movement
Tight dresses can look a little out of place and can restrict us a little. We are going to be moving a lot and we want the dress to move with you, this looks great in shots!

- Linen pants/skirts
Linen is always a yes! Whites, creams or earthy tones!

- Jeans and a pop of colour on top

- Solid colours, whites, creams and earthy colours

- no heavy patterns, blacks or neon colours

- Colour is always encouraged, it brings life to our shots!

Dad

-I want you to be comfortable so lets avoid any formal button ups they can look a little out of place! Go for a loose linen top instead or a plain t shirt!

- Casual pants or shorts – linen looks fantastic

- Solid complementary colours to mums outfit

- A plain t shirt looks great, sometimes casual is perfect. I would avoid looking to formal. A white, cream or earthy tone t shirt such as beige, browns, rusts etc

- No logos, slogans, muscle shirts, singlets, blacks or heavy patterns

Children

- Choose colours that tie in with mum and dads outfit

- lets get some nice tones, rusts etc look great. Embrace the earthy tones and avoid having all white shirts and white pants

- Textures such as knits, linen and cotton look amazing

- No logos, slogans or heavy patterns

- Casual is always better, think relaxed free moving clothes with beautiful textures and colours

Tips for kids & sunset session

It is totally normal to be worried about your little ones and how they will go at a sunset shoot but trust me it will be totally worth it!

Here's some tips for the day:

- Try and have a relaxing day so that they aren't too burnt out when it comes to the shoot. I wouldn't suggest swimming lessons, beach etc that day.

- Feed them dinner before coming so we have nice full bellies

- Bring non messy snacks such as crackers

- Bring favourite toys or comforters

- Embrace the chaos and have fun!
